Passing sea level on the way down to the Dead Sea (Dead Sea is the furthest point below sea level) The car in the picture is the rental car I had until I reached Eilat.

En Gedi waterfall. En Gedi is where David (before he became king) hid from King Saul (it's in the bible in the First Covenant (ie: "Old Testament")) Yes, I did swim under the fall (the second waterfall) - it's only waist deep and no rapids below.

Masada is ~1/2 mile from the Dead Sea - and has amazing views of the Dead Sea. The mountains in the background are in Jordan

Dead Sea (resort area) You REALLY float like a boat --- relaxing swim in a warm mineral bath. It would be nice to have access to the Dead Sea on a regular basis! Mountains in the background are in Jordan - the border between Israel and Jordan is down the middle of the Dead Sea (and why you can only swim in authorized areas!)
